Silice

Silice is a live performance in which music, words and drawing are built up together, answering and joining one another. Lyricx’s haunting guitar and Alice Stevens’s voice create a melody that becomes a whole landscape. Notes land like drops of watercolour, plant names turn into vocal percussion, birds squabble before making up on the paper.

Around a large-format drawing made during each original performance, the duo’s live music takes the audience into a world of poetry and light. Lyrics and drawings draw on the imagery of the Mayenne region and on the venues themselves.

Silice en Naïf. For the Night of Museums in May 2025, Silice took on the spirit of naïve art at the Musée d’Art Naïf et d’Arts Singuliers in Laval (MANAS). In three rooms of the museum, each with its own theme, twenty-minute performances immersed visitors in the works and their stories, with original compositions heard through headphones. The ink and pastel drawings made during the performances borrow elements from the surrounding paintings and sculptures, such as Henri Rousseau’s The Snake Charmer, then on loan to the museum. They remained on display at the museum through the summer and autumn of 2025.
